Xbox is the latest major gaming company to confirm to IGN on Friday, 10 March 2023, that it will not be present at E3. Until this week, it was unclear whether or not Xbox would be present at this year’s E3 convention in person; Microsoft only revealed the June 11 date for its annual Xbox showcase and a dedicated Starfield presentation this week.
“We can’t wait to host our Xbox Games Showcase on June 11th and will share more details later,” an Xbox spokesperson said in a statement to IGN. “We also look forward to co-streaming our event as part of E3 Digital and will not be on the E3 show floor.”
After Nintendo’s announcement in February that it would not be attending E3, neither Nintendo nor Microsoft will have booths at the event. Sony hasn’t attended E3 since 2019, and according to a report from January by IGN, the firm has no plans to attend in 2023 either. Unfortunately, Sony did not immediately provide comment after being contacted.

ReedPop’s parent company, Reed Exhibitions US, released a statement saying details on participating companies will be soon. We look forward to unveiling more of the publishers that will be part of our digital showcase series and exhibiting on the exhibition floor in the lead-up to the return of E3, said Kyle Marsden-Kish, global VP of gaming at Reed Exhibitions US.

Digital Week, which is part of the E3 expo, will begin on June 11 with the Microsoft Xbox showcase. The E3 convention itself will run from June 13 to 16. And then, on June 8th, Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest will return for another year.
