The catalyst was the brutal psychological horror film Saw from 2004, which at the time surpassed 1996’s Scream as the most successful movie in its category. Along with giving us Jigsaw, a contemporary horror icon, the film also gave rise to a billion-dollar franchise, much like Scream. Six follow-up films and two spin-offs have since been produced for Saw.
The promise of traps, gore, and twists draws audiences to theatres despite the questionable quality, which has occurred frequently. The good news is that Saw X is taking place, so read on to learn everything you need to know about the forthcoming sequel, including its release date, and more.
Saw X Release Date
The movie Saw X will debut on September 29, 2023. The 10th instalment in the series has since been moved up from its intended release date of October 27, which was announced earlier this year. It will now open in theatres around the world one month earlier than expected.

Kevin Greutert, who previously directed Saw VI and Saw 3D, also known as Saw: The Final Chapter, will helm it. While the latter wasn’t the grand send-off initially hinted at, the former garnered the finest reviews since the original but made the least money. This release date will also mean that Saw 10 is dropping on the same day as the next Paw Patrol movie.

We are unlikely to see Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson, or Max Minghella because Spiral is regarded as a spinoff. It wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for Cary Elwes to reprise his role as Dr. Lawrence Gordon, though.
Other actors who have been confirmed for the cast in currently undisclosed roles include:
- Michael Beach
- Synnøve Macody Lund
- Steven Brand
- Renata Vaca
- Paulette Hernandez
- Octavio Hinojosa
- Joshua Okamoto
What is Saw X About?
The Saw X storyline centres on John Kramer falling for a medical hoax in the interval between the first two Saw movies. Kramer travels to Mexico to test out a supposedly cutting-edge medical procedure for his cancer, only to discover that everything he had been told was a con meant to take advantage of others in need.
It’s easy to predict what happens next as Jigsaw returns to his style of complex m*rder and exposes the scam artists who tried to swindle him. They won’t fare well in the end, that much is certain.
Saw X Trailer
Yes, a trailer for Saw X was released on July 30. The next movie’s narrative and some of the evil ki!!ing machines Jigsaw made for his most recent batch of victims were brilliantly revealed in the Saw X trailer. (Be sure to watch it below to see it for yourself!)

All things considered, this seems to be a return to the franchise’s origins after the last two dud films tried to go in a different direction. Why alter the Saw formula when it has been so successful at the box office?
