Good news, my fellow nerds! Kadokawa has confirmed the production of a third season of the anime series Re: Zero. But when exactly will that take place? I have no idea. Currently, there are no confirmed release dates for the third season. Despite this, the anime production will likely resume in 2024.
The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic forced the delay of the release of the second season of the anime until 2020. The first season of the show was shown in 2016. There is a good chance of a lapse of three years between seasons. Since the second season concluded in 2021, a reasonable estimate for the third season would be 2024.

The plot of Re: Zero Season 3 will follow Subaru Natsuki as he continues through the Stars that Engrave the History arc from the light book series. When Subaru first enters the fantasy world, he realizes that he can go back in time whenever he perishes and change the past. However, there is a catch to this. Every time he passes on, he remembers the agony and the tragedy of his deἀth, and then in his next life, he is forced to live with the effects of that trauma. That sounds like a mentally draining experience.
