Nyad is an upcoming film starring Annette Bening that is based on the incredible true story of 64-year-old swimmer Diana Nyad, who was the first person to complete the “Everest of swims” by swimming 110 miles of open water between Cuba and Florida without a shark cage. The film will be released on Netflix later this year.
This biographical sports drama is based on Nyad’s book Find a Way. It was co-directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, who won an Oscar for her documentary work, and Jimmy Chin, an athlete who also made movies. The screenplay was written by Ann Biderman, who has won an Emmy, and Julia Cox, whose script Do No Harm was on the Black List.
