When Destiny 2 Season 18 Will Release? Exotics, And Everything We Know

The next big update for Destiny 2 is coming up next week when Season 18 starts. In an unusual move, Bungie has decided to keep the theme, details, and almost everything else about Destiny 2 Season 18 a secret until a Livestream that will happen hours before the season starts. This suggests that there will be some big story changes in Season 18. We do know a few things, like when Season 18 starts and how the Arc 3.0 overhaul will give Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks a lot of new challenges. Here’s what we know so far about Destiny 2 Season 18:

Destiny 2 Season 18 Release date

Destiny 2 Season 18 will start on August 23, but there will be some maintenance time before that.

Also on that day, Bungie will be holding a new Destiny 2 showcase, so you can expect information about the season, future updates, and the first look at the next expansion, Lightfall.

Destiny 2 Season 18 Storyline

As we’ve already said, Bungie is keeping Season 18’s story a close secret, but the short synopsis it posted online did hint that something terrible will happen this year. Destiny 2 is laying more groundwork for the endgame of the Light and Darkness saga. The Witness is getting closer to the Traveler, and an army of Pyramid Fleet ships is surrounding the solar system. Other major threats are still unknown.

“It has come. As we wait for destiny to play out, the people of the Last City look to the stars, which are us, for hope “the description for Season 18 says. “Even though we’ve won before when the odds were against us, this time feels different. But if we can’t get out, our story will be one of bravery and become a legend.”

Arc 3.0

Since the Beyond Light expansion of 202, when Stasis was added, subclasses in Destiny 2 have changed. The Witch Queen expansion would add Void 3.0, a set of reworked abilities with a debuff theme. Season of the Haunted, on the other hand, would add Solar 3.0, a set of reworked abilities with a fire theme. All of these reworks have used a system of Aspects and Fragments to help customize each subclass. Players have found that these can be used with certain Exotics to make very powerful builds.

Arc 3.0

This week, Bungie gave more information about Arc 3.0. They talked about how the subclass is made to give players the most mobility and power. Guardians can blind enemies, send them flying, and make their skills hit harder and faster than ever before with the amplified effect. You can read GameSpot’s Destiny 2 Arc 3.0 feature to find out exactly what Bungie has planned for players who switch to the electrifying element.

Exotic Weapons And Armor Tuning

In Season 18, there will be a lot of changes to exotic weapons and armor. Bungie recently confirmed that Lord of Wolves, Dead Man’s Tale, Collective Obligation, and Omnioculus will all be getting some changes.

Many of these changes are for PvP, where these weapons are the best. For example, Dead Man’s Tale’s “hip-firing cowboy rifle” fantasy has been amplified, Lord of Wolves‘ signature perk has been changed, and the Le Monarque, Thunderlord, and Malfeasance Exotics now have anti-champion functionality.
