Tucker Carlson’s Debut Episode On Twitter: ‘We’re Grateful to be Here’

Tucker Carlson, a former Fox News personality, tweeted the first episode of his new show Tuesday evening.

“Hey, it’s Tucker Carlson,” the host remarked as he opened the 10-minute video while seated behind a desk in what looks to be his rural Maine home.

Carlson then commented on a suspected dam explosion in Ukraine, which prompted widespread evacuations in the war-torn country.

The conservative pundit exploited the incident to mock the American news media and politicians who have defended the country’s engagement in the war with Russia.

Carlson was fired as host of Fox’s 8 p.m. hour earlier this year, and neither he nor the network has officially stated why.

Several allegations have appeared in recent weeks claiming that his dismissal was linked to the host’s critical statements about network leadership in text conversations, which were made public as part of the network’s now-settled defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems.

Carlson is still under contract with Fox, and it’s unclear whether producing content for the social media site would violate the rules of his contract.

Separately, the commentator has accused the network of breaching its contract by disclosing negative information about him to the press.

In a cryptic video posted shortly after his dismissal, Carlson claimed he would bring a version of his former Fox show to Twitter, owned by billionaire Elon Musk.

“As of today, we have come to Twitter, which we hope will be the short wave radio under the blankets,” Carlson stated as he finished his first video on the network.

“We’ve been taught that there are no gatekeepers here. We’ll depart if that turns out to be wrong. But for now, we’re grateful to be here.”
