Rey Mysterio announced his retirement from WWE on Friday Night SmackDown. Mysterio shared his choice with Triple H. He recalled the days when his son Dominik would bounce on his lap and exclaim, “I can’t fight my son.”
And now Dominik is asking Rey to hit him after he was severely mauled by his son on Monday Night Raw. In contrast to his son, Rey has avoided fighting him whenever possible. The stage is being set for a match at WrestleMania 39. Check out the Mysterio interview with Triple H down below if you missed it.
It has been revealed that Rey did not actually leave WWE. Rey agreed to compete in Triple H and Kurt Angle‘s Fatal 4-Way to select the next Intercontinental Champion. Mysterio faced Sheamus, Ricochet, and Solo Sikoa in this bout. Karrion Kross had been in a car accident earlier in the concert, necessitating a substitute (storyline). Due to his victory, Rey will be given another crack at the IC Title in the near future.
