When Will MaXXXine Be Released? Meet The Cast Shining Bright in The Movie!

The horror business has been rocked by Ti West and Mia Goth’s newest franchise. Both the first episode of the series, X and its prequel/sequel, Pearl, both of which starred Goth, were unexpected hits. The third movie is now on its way. With a star-studded cast and an intriguing premise, MaXXXine, the third and final instalment in the A24 trilogy, appears to be the series’ grand finale. The movie is still in development, but there is still some mystery around it. Here is everything we currently know about the movie.

MaXXXine Release Date

MaXXXine has not yet received an official release date as of this writing. Compared to the first two movies in the series, this movie’s release is a little bit different. Because X and Pearl were shot concurrently, they were able to be released one year apart.

We may have to wait a bit, perhaps another year or two, as MaXXXine has only lately started production. However, given that many of the same team members are returning, perhaps it won’t take as long as we fear.

MaXXXine Cast: Who Is Starring In The Movie?

Mia Goth will be the only recurring cast member in the trilogy’s concluding film as of this writing. She will play the title character Maxine again in this situation. So far, what roles they are playing have yet to be announced. There are also other new cast members, such as:

Ti West will take the helm in front of the camera once again. Pearl’s co-writer Mia Goth doesn’t appear to have contributed to the script this time around, despite the fact that she is undoubtedly extolling its praises.

MaXXXine Plot: What Is Happening In The Movie?

The film, a direct sequel to X, is set in 1985 Los Angeles and follows Maxine, a survivor, as she pursues stardom. The specifics of the narrative are yet unknown, but one thing is certain: Maxine “will not accept a life she doesn’t deserve,” and she will do whatever it takes to get what she wants.

It’s safe to say we can expect a new style and subgenre of horror to be explored in MaXXXine since the first movie (X) was of the 1970s slasher-type of horror and Pearl took a more “Golden Age of Hollywood” approach. With the lead actress Mia Goth, this movie’s narrative is the strongest of the three.

When and Where Did MaXXXine Film?

On April 11, 2023, A24 declared on Twitter that the shooting had started. Los Angeles, California, is the setting for the filming.

MaXXXine Trailer: Is There A Trailer For The Movie?

MaXXXine currently only has a brief teaser, there is no official trailer. A24 published the teaser on April 5, 2023, and it had a “Coming Soon” tag. Below is a link to watch it:

The 1983 song “Obsession” by Animotion serves as some peppy yet menacing foreshadowing in the teaser, which is barely over a minute long but still extremely entertaining to watch. It opens with vintage TV static and then cuts to Los Angeles in 1985, which is six years after the events of X. After that, a pan is made to the Hollywood sign, which now reads “MAXXXINE.” Without a doubt, this alludes to the threequel’s storyline.
