Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Release Date And Where To Watch It?

As announced in February, Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 will air in 2023. The first look at the new season came with a new wave of news, though. We even know which arc (and how many chapters) of the popular manga will be turned into an anime before then.

Still, there hasn’t been much news about Jujutsu Kaisen in the past few weeks. So, it’s time to look at what we know (and don’t know) about the next season before it starts.

Need a refresher course first? We’ll go over everything we know for sure about the second season below. We’ve also looked at the original sources to guess what might happen next. And that’s just the beginning. Read on to learn everything we know so far about Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. Jujutsu Kaisen  Season 2 Will Air In 2023

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 will come out in 2023. This was confirmed at an event in Japan (thanks to Crunchyroll), which opens in a new tab. We don’t know any more specifics, but it will probably come out in one of the three main seasons for anime: winter 2023 (starting around January 2023), spring 2023 (starting around April 2023), or fall 2023. (starting October 2023).

If we had to bet, we’d say it’s most likely to come out in the fall of 2023. Not only did the first season come out in the fall, but the animation studio MAPPA also worked on Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Attack on Titan, and Chainsaw Man, which is all the rage right now. That’s a busy schedule for any studio, but starting in October 2023, they’d have enough time to make a second season that lives up to their ridiculously high standards.

A special Toho Animation event on September 25 came and went without confirming a release date, but we now know which manga chapters the new season will be based on and have a good idea of how many episodes we’ll get next year.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 Plot?

The Death Painting Arc, which ran from chapters 55 to 64 in the manga, was the last part of the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen. Gojo’s Past Arc, which includes chapters 65–79 in the manga, will be adapted first in the second season.

That is about, you guessed it, Gojo’s past. Specifically, it’s about a mission where Gojo and Geto were sent to Tengen with a Star Plasma Vessel.

The Shibuya Incident will also be used in  Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 (chapters 79-136). We’re not going to give anything away here, so don’t worry, but the Shibuya Incident Arc is all about a plan by Gojo and his new cursed alliance to seal Goto away.

That has been confirmed to last for two full seasons, so the next season should have between 24 and 26 episodes.

Need a quick review of what’s already happened? After Yuji and Nobara beat Eso and Kechizu, the Cursed Wombs, they join back up with Megumi. But Sukuna, using Yuji’s hand as a mouth because of anime, eats the finger and brings Yuji one step closer to getting his power back.

Expect the new season to deal with this growing evil as well as the evil of Choso, the third Cursed Womb triplet, joining forces with Geto and Mahito, the two main bad guys of the show.

At Jujutsu High, there is also the small matter of a mole, and teacher Utahime is very interested in finding the sneaky sorcerer. This will be a big part of the next season as well.

In the last scene of Season 2, Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, Maki, and Panda are recommended for promotion to Grade 1 Sorcerers, and Gojo asks them to join him on a new mission…

First look at Jujutsu Kaisen season 2

The first piece of key art for season 2 has been shown on the Jujutsu Kaisen Twitter account. Below is a picture of Gojo and Geto when they were in school. Soon, a trailer will be out.

Should I watch the Jujutsu Kaisen 1 movie before the second season?

The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie is a prequel to the main series, so we’d recommend it, but it’s not necessary. The movie is mostly about the swordsman Yuta Okkotsu, who will become more important as the Jujutsu Kaisen anime goes on. He’s also one of the most popular characters in the manga series, so you should go see what all the fuss is about.

There is also a scene after the credits that sets up what will happen in the next episode. It’s about Yuta going back to Japan and joining the main series. It’s not clear yet if he’ll be in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, though.

It’s also worth looking for if you want to finish the series. It fills out the world and the idea that the universe is full of curses, and it’s a good story on its own. You can probably skip it if you’re short on time, but we really think you should look for it.

Where Can I Watch The First Season of Jujutsu Kaisen?

If you need to catch up on Jujutsu Kaisen before the second season starts, you can watch all 24 episodes of the first season on Crunchyroll. Thanks to the recent merger with Funimation, you should also be able to stream Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, Demon Slayer season 3, and other popular anime series for the first time on the streaming service.

Is Yuji Itadori in jujutsu Kaisen 0?

So, Itadori isn’t in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 because he wasn’t planned to be there at the time. Akutami never planned to keep writing Jujutsu Kaisen, and since Itadori wasn’t a character from Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, it wouldn’t make much sense for him to be in the movie.
