The end is near. Well, that’s the end of Chapter 3 of Fortnite. Epic Games is turning the page on the game after just four, admittedly very long, seasons.
It’s not clear what this means for the game. Even though Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 4 will be over, not much is known about what comes next. We know that between seasons, there will be a big live event. We’ll probably get a new map since that’s what happens every time a new Chapter starts. The new season will have a Battle Pass, new items, changes to how the game is played, and so on.
The new map has been found by people who work with data. Or, more likely, its code name, “Asteria,” has been made public. In the files, the maps from before were called Athena (Chapter 1), Apollo (Chapter 2), and Artemis (Chapter 3). (Chapter 3).
We also know that the new Creative 2.0 will come out in January, in the middle of the season. This adds the ability to change things in Unreal Engine 5 to the game’s creative mode. Epic calls it UEFN, which stands for “Unreal Editor for Fortnite.” At this point, it is probably the most interesting thing we know about Chapter 4, Season 1.
In any case, we don’t know for sure when the next Chapter will start, but we do know the following. I’ll add more information to this post if we find out more, but this should give you a good idea of what to expect.
When Will Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 End?
On Saturday, December 3, at 1 p.m. PT, 4 p.m. ET, and 9 p.m. UTC, Chapter 3 of Season 4 comes to a close. You need to finish your Battle Pass and wrap up any other tasks you may still be working on by that date.

The next thing is the Fractured live event, which starts as soon as the season ends, but a special event lobby opens half an hour before that. This event will be a co-op event like the Collision event from a few seasons ago, but you’ll be in lobbies with other players and can even work together.
This event lasts at least 40 minutes and probably a bit longer since players can join at any time between 3:30 pm ET and 4:40 pm ET (if you log in on December 2nd or 3rd, you’ll get a special emote that looks like you’re roasting s’mores).
When the live event is over, the servers will shut down and the game won’t be playable for a while. We don’t know how long, and we probably won’t find out. At the end of Chapter 1, the map fell into a black hole, and the game went dark for a few days. The game will sometimes stop working for a few hours or a day. There’s no way to know. But the new Chapter 4, Season 1 will probably come out on December 5th. There’s a chance that it will take longer, but I wouldn’t count on it.
We don’t know much about the Battle Pass, the story, or anything else. Season 4’s theme, “Paradise,” is broken up into “FRACTURED” for the event. It’s not clear if that will be the title of the next season or if it’s just a transition.
