During a raid on their hotel rooms, Italian paramilitary police found 120 grammes of cocaine and arrested two caterers who worked on Denzel Washington’s action movie “The Equalizer 3.”
The drugs were found in a hotel near the town of Maiori on the Amalfi coast on Tuesday afternoon. It happened after the head of catering for the production died suddenly.
Il Giornale, an Italian newspaper, said that the 55-year-old man collapsed as he left a local pub and later died of a heart attack. After that, a few packets of cocaine were found in his pockets, which made the police think there might be more drugs on the set of “The Equalizer 3.”
During the raid on Tuesday, Italian police officers allegedly found cocaine in the hotel room of two Roman catering workers over the age of 30. They then put the workers under house arrest on suspicion that they were selling drugs.

Anonymous sources told Deadline that the two were held after a private event on their day off. At the time, they were not on set. A third caterer was accused of having a small amount of cocaine “for personal use.” His driver’s licence was taken away.
Police also checked the area around the local port, which was the main place where the movie was made. Sony Pictures and Eagle Pictures from Italy are working together to make the movie. On-site logistics are being handled by Garbo Produzioni, a third party.
“The Equalizer 3” is a movie directed by Antoine Fuqua. Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning are in it. Washington, who is 67, is playing Robert McCall again after he retired from the US Marine Corps.
This is the fifth project that Washington and Fuqua have worked on together. They have worked together before on “Training Day” and the first two “Equalizer” movies. On September 1, 2023, “The Equalizer 3” is set to come out in theatres.
