Alex Wagner was reared in Washington, D.C., where he was born on November 27, 1977. Her mother, Tin Swe Thant, is a Swarthmore College graduate who immigrated from Yangon, Myanmar, and later naturalized as a citizen of the United States. Her father, Carl Wagner, graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.
He is from Lansing, Iowa, and is of Luxembourger and Irish ancestry. He was a well-known Democratic Party political consultant who served as Bill Clinton’s running mate in 1992. She attended Woodrow Wilson High School, which will become Jackson-Reed in 2022 and earned a degree in art history and literature from Brown University in 1999. Wagner was a devout Catholic growing up.

Sam Kass and Alex have been husband and wife since 2014. Sam and Alex met at the White House correspondent dinner party that year. Sam was regarded as a well-known figure in the Obama administration. Sam joined Barack Obama’s inner group while he was still a senator. They remained very close friends before, during, and after his presidency.
Sam rose through the administration’s ranks from being a personal chef to serving as the top advisor on nutrition policy. Sam proceeded to advance with the Obamas after proving himself deserving. Later, he served as the executive director for Michelle Obama’s campaign against childhood obesity.

Cyrus Kass, better known by the moniker Cy, is Alex and Sam’s first child. Since entering the world in 2017, he is either five or six years old. He was not born on the exact day or month that has been made public. The source adds that Rafael, their second child, was born on April 16, 2019.
A glance through Alex’s Instagram feed will show how much she loves being a mother. She has several photos of herself with her two boys, who all seem to have the time of their lives. Alex is seen lying on a children’s bed with both boys playfully perched on top of her in a snapshot taken on May 10, 2021.

On June 20, 2021, she shared a picture of Sam and their two boys having fun at the beach in honour of Father’s Day.
She added a thoughtful caption saying, “First of all, I wouldn’t be a mother without him, but there’s no godly way I could have this career, or travel the world, or really, be the person I am, without the Herculean strength and ‘we can do this’ attitude of Sam Kass. Happy Father’s Day to the guy who makes so much possible and so much delicious.”
