JOEY Jordison was an American musician and songwriter. Jordison was the heavy metal band Slipknot’s founding drummer and co-writer.
Jordison joined the band in 1995 and stayed until December 12, 2013, when it was announced he was leaving for personal reasons, but in a 2016 interview, he disclosed he was fired.

Jordison died on July 26, 2021, as one of the original members of the band Slipknot. Jordison died in his sleep Monday night at the age of 46, according to a statement given by his family to Billboard.
“Joey’s de@th has left us with empty hearts and feelings of indescribable sorrow,” according to the statement.
“Those who knew Joey knew his quick wit, gentle personality, huge heart, and love for all things family and music.” Joey’s family has asked that friends, fans, and the media respect our need for solitude and tranquility during this extremely painful time.”
“The family of Joey has asked that friends, fans, and the media understandably respect our need for privacy and peace during this incredibly difficult time,” the statement continues. “The family requests that the media and public respect their wishes for a private funeral service.”

In 2016, Jordison revealed that he was diagnosed with transverse myelitis, a disease that causes inflammation in the spinal cord. As a result, Jordison lost the use of his legs.
“I couldn’t play anymore. It was a form of multiple sclerosis, which I don’t wish on my worst enemy,” he said onstage at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards in 2016.
Jordison revealed that his bandmates mistook the sickness for a substance addiction problem, which contributed to his expulsion. It is unknown whether the disease contributed to his untimely de@th.
