JOEY Jordison was an American musician and songwriter. Jordison was the heavy metal band Slipknot’s founding drummer and co-writer.

Jordison died on July 26, 2021, as one of the original members of the band Slipknot. Jordison died in his sleep Monday night at the age of 46, according to a statement given by his family to Billboard.

In 2016, Jordison revealed that he was diagnosed with transverse myelitis, a disease that causes inflammation in the spinal cord. As a result, Jordison lost the use of his legs.

“I couldn’t play anymore. It was a form of multiple sclerosis, which I don’t wish on my worst enemy,” he said onstage at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards in 2016.

Jordison revealed that his bandmates mistook the sickness for a substance addiction problem, which contributed to his expulsion. It is unknown whether the disease contributed to his untimely de@th.
