9 Victims Injured, 1 in Critical Condition in San Francisco Sh00ting Incident

On Friday night, nine people were injured in a mass shooting in San Francisco’s Mission District, which police described as a “targeted and isolated” event.

According to the San Francisco Police, the incident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. at a clothes store party near 24th Street and Treat Avenue.

San Francisco Police Department, all victims are “expected to survive their injuries.” However, according to a statement from Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, one of the victims was still in critical condition as of Saturday afternoon.

Another was claimed to be in critical condition, four were in fair health, and three had been released. The victims were eight men and one woman aged 20 to 34.

Police Chief William Scott called the violence “unacceptable.”

“People should feel safe to go out in San Francisco without fear of being victims of gun violence,” Scott added. “Our investigators are working hard on this case, and we will have a visible police presence in the community where this occurred going forward.”

Dying Breed, a clothes boutique near the crossroads where the sh00ting occurred, was planning a block party to commemorate its sixth anniversary on Friday night. A retail employee who answered the phone declined to comment.

The Mission District is one of San Francisco’s oldest neighborhoods, named after the Mission Dolores, a 1776 Spanish mission. The dynamic district, historically Latino and progressively gentrifying in recent years, is home to several restaurants and stores.

Mayor London Breed stated that first responders reacted quickly to the incident and that “no lives were lost.”

“I know there are a lot of questions and concerns in the community, and people want answers,” said Breed. “We are still working to understand exactly what happened and why, and we will share information as soon as possible.”

People should feel safe to go out in San Francisco without fear of being victims of gun violence,” Police Chief William Scott said Saturday. “Our investigators are working diligently on this case and we will have a visible police presence moving forward in the community where this occurred.”
