Netflix has a well-deserved reputation for being famously secretive about its viewership. But after a few years of declining statistics for some of its programming, Netflix launched a website in the middle of November that posted charts of its most popular shows and movies from the previous week and a global ranking of its all-time most watched titles. This came after the company had experienced a decline in viewership for some of its programs over the previous few years.
The charts, revised every week and ranked according to the total number of hours users spent watching them, constitute an extraordinary treasure trove of data regarding what content is popular on Netflix. This website provides information on the most popular titles during the past week, not just for the entire world but also for more than ninety individual countries. And it’s designed to assist customers like you get a better sense of the top blockbusters on the world’s largest subscription streaming service in the hopes that you’ll discover something new to watch from this feature.

Every week on Tuesday, the business publishes an updated version of its “Top 10 on Netflix” list, determined by the total number of hours spent watching original and licensed titles from Monday through Sunday of the previous week. The rankings are organized into the top 10 charts for films in English, television shows in English, movies in languages other than English and television shows in languages other than English.
There is also a rating of all-time most watched titles that can be found on the website. This ranking provides information on shows with the most viewing hours in the first 28 days after release. Netflix will count the time users spent watching episodes from the first volume of a new season for the first 28 days after those episodes are made available. After that, it will count the time users spent watching episodes from the second volume of the new season for the first 28 days. These all-time rankings are updated every Tuesday whenever any shows make it into the charts the week prior.
