Recently, Tami Roman’s weight was scrutinised after she shared a full-body selfie on Instagram. As she lounged on a green couch, the 52-year-old reality star-turned-actress showed followers what she looked like without her wig.

“Nothing like… after a long day, getting home and taking that wig TF off [laughing emojis] dis bra got next,” she wrote.

Even though some thought Roman from “House of Vicious” was lovely, others remarked on how thin he was.

“Tammy don’t lose another pound girl u hear me NOT one more pound.”

“You look so thin. What happened?”

Roman’s weight was the subject of several remarks, but one, in particular, caught everyone’s attention.

“You look so healthy, no offense, but you had gotten a little too thin. You look great.” commented a user with the username @sherryyoung831.

One admirer thought it was time to fully defend Roman by informing people of her health situation after reading the backhanded praise.

“She has diabetes wtf .. dat was really just distasteful of you,” a user responded.

Roman has been open about her issues with weight gain, her Type 2 diabetes diagnosis, and how it is intricately linked to her body dysmorphic disorder.

On “The Real” in 2021, the former “Basketball Wives” star said, “Today at 50 years old, I’ve been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and my weight fluctuates with that and you couple that with the disorder, and it’s a hard thing to manage.”

Roman was just 13 years old when the disease took control of her thoughts, and she had previously worked with a modelling agency.

She told the hosts, “I was tall, I was 5’9, and thin.” Initially, at an all-time high, she claimed that the company’s representative ripping down her figure caused her confidence to plummet.

“She stood me in front of a mirror and said ‘You got back folds. You got fat over your knees, you know you need to do something with your chin,’ ” Roman stated.

A person with body dysmorphic disorder becomes fixated on their appearance because of their mental health problem. It generates fake faults, causing a person to develop the practice of hiding their perceived flaws.

In Roman’s instance, she had to take laxatives, vomit, and even have her jaws wired shut in 1993 to lose weight.

Although she has struggled with this for almost three decades, she has learnt to ignore fan feedback and occasionally claps back at their uninvited thoughts with a dash of humour.
