One of two drivers who were drag racing in Portland over the weekend lost control of their vehicles and crashed, according to authorities on Monday.

Late Saturday night, Portland police were called to a two-vehicle collision where one of the vehicles was on fire. According to authorities, investigators found that the drivers were drag racing.
“Both vehicles were travelling at a very high rate of speed when they lost control and crashed, injuring the two drivers and one passenger,” according to authorities.

All three were given life-threatening injuries and transported to nearby hospitals. According to police, one of the drivers passed away from their wounds.
