The horrific left knee injury to Nick Chubb will require surgery, which is a sad setback for the great running back of the Cleveland Browns who will now have to endure more hard recovery in order to resume playing. In the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, Chubb suffered a season-ending injury.

Chubb, a four-time Pro Bowler in six seasons, was injured in the second quarter when Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick made a low contact on him during a carry. The same knee Chubb injured in Georgia in 2015 and had surgically repaired crumpled as a result of the impact.
Coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Chubb’s season is over. He did not provide any specifics on the severity of the injury or when Chubb will have the operation. Chubb, who most certainly tore many ligaments, may consult with several doctors before continuing. After losing Chubb, Cleveland is attempting to refocus, so on Tuesday, the team invited former Brown Kareem Hunt for a visit and workout.
After a contentious last season with the Browns, Hunt spent four seasons with Cleveland before departing as a free agent in March. The 28-year-old, who was with Kansas City in 2017 when they led the NFL in rushing, was dissatisfied with his contract and requested a move in 2022.
Even though he participated in all 17 games, he lacked his dynamic play. He finished with 210 receiving yards and 468 rushing yards. If signed, Hunt is familiar with the Browns’ offensive scheme and could pick it up fast. On Sunday, Tennessee will visit the Browns.
“You don’t replace Nick Chubb,” Stefanski said. “Great players in the league, you look around, they go out. It’s always not one person that replaces a player of his caliber, so everybody’s got to do a little bit more, got to do a little bit more everywhere.”

Cleveland’s offence and quarterback Deshaun Watson battled for long stretches in the 26-22 loss, the Browns’ 20th straight regular-season loss in Pittsburgh. Jerome Ford, the backup running back who will now replace Chubb, was one of the few bright lights on an otherwise gloomy evening.

Ford, a second-year player from Cincinnati, took Chubb’s place and carried for 106 yards on 16 carries for an average of 6.6 yards. One play after Chubb’s injury, Ford ran for 69 yards and then caught a 3-yard touchdown pass. Pierre Strong Jr. currently climbs up the depth chart behind Ford.
