Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly agreed to battle Elon Musk in a cage match between the billionaire CEOs of two major technology businesses. It remains to be seen whether the two tech titans are joking.
Musk challenged the company’s creator to a “cage match” on Wednesday in response to a user discussing Meta’s aspirations to develop a Twitter rival. In a story on Instagram, which is owned by Meta, Zuckerberg responded to a screenshot of the tweet by saying, “Send me location.”
Musk, Twitter’s executive chairman and chief technology officer, proposed the “Vegas Octagon” – likely referring to the UFC Apex in Las Vegas – as the location for their billionaire brawl. He also joked about having a “move” dubbed the “Walrus” in which he lays on top of his opponent and does nothing.
Nonetheless, SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated that he will undertake it “if this is for real.” A Meta representative informed CBS News about the fight, “The story speaks for itself.”

Musk is a few inches taller than Zuckerberg, but his combat abilities are unclear, and he claims to rarely work out. Zuckerberg, on the other hand, recently won gold and silver medals in his first jiu-jitsu event. In a series of six images, the Meta founder was seen battling with various opponents at a Brazilian jiu-jitsu competition in May.
It’s unclear whether either entrepreneur is serious about the match. Whether it occurs or not, the possible bout is already generating interest. Jake Paul, a social media sensation and professional boxer, told Musk that he will “gladly promote” it.
There appears to be little ill will between corporate leaders who have publicly disagreed on their policies. Musk has mocked Zuckerberg and slammed the Metaverse on his platform. Meanwhile, in a podcast, Zuckerberg stated that he believes Twitter should have a “billion people using it.”
