New York’s quarterback carousel keeps going as Zach Wilson is again taken off the field. This time, it’s Chris Streveler. The Jets lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars 19–3 at MetLife Stadium on Thursday night.
Jacksonville had completely shut down Wilson met with boos from the crowd. Fans had been chanting for Joe Flacco to come in all night, but they got Streveler instead.
They got what they wanted for a while when Streveler led the Jets on a 73-yard drive. However, the drive stalled at the 13-yard line after a pass on fourth-and-two was dropped, and the Jaguars kept their 13-point lead in the middle of the fourth quarter.
Streveler, the Jets’ fourth quarterback to play this season, completed 3 of 5 passes for 41 yards and ran for 37 yards during the drive. With the runs he’s already got, he has more yards than anyone else on the team. At the end of the game, he passed 10 of 15 times for 90 yards and ran 9 times for 54 yards.

Streveler, 27, did some great things for the Jets in the preseason. He completed 6 of 9 passes for 62 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning touchdown to Calvin Jackson with 16 seconds left in a 24-21 Jets win. Wilson left the game with a knee injury, so he missed the first three regular-season games.

Streveler is the best journeyman because he played college baseball in Minnesota and South Dakota. This is his fourth team this year. He started his career with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League.
