Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, Mama June Shannon’s oldest daughter, has been diagnosed with cancer, ET has learnt.
According to TMZ, the 28-year-old has stage 4 cancer and was diagnosed with adrenal carcinoma in January. According to the site, Anna had a battery of tests for stomachaches, and cancer was identified in her liver, kidney, and lung.
Anna has reportedly experienced her first round of chemotherapy, with further treatment decisions to be made depending on her reaction.
According to TMZ, Anna’s family members are “extremely hopeful” that she will recover. Anna has two kids, Kaitlyn, 10, and Kylee, 7, with her ex-husband, Michael Cardwell.
Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, 26, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, 23, and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, 17, are Anna’s siblings.
Anna has spoken up about her mother, June. Mama June’s remarkable weight-loss journey was featured on WE tv’s Mama June: From Not to Hot in 2017.
At the time, Anna said the former Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star’s weight loss was motivated by fame.
“I think she did it to get more attention,” Anna told E! News. “I don’t think she did it simply for herself because she never mentioned undergoing plastic surgery before.”
Anna and June reconnected at a baby shower in June 2021 and then at June’s wedding to Justin Stroud in Florida last month.
