3 Wounded, 2 Critically in Southwest Side Shooting, Police Says

Police say three people were hurt in a shooting on the city’s Southwest Side on Saturday night. At 10:10 p.m., someone was shot in the Ashburn neighborhood on the 3400 block of West 79th Street.

Police said that three people were in a car when an unidentified suspect in a dark-colored Charger drove next to them and shot at them.

The 23-year-old man driving the car was shot several times in the chest and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition. A passenger in the back seat who was 18 years old and shot in the head was also taken to Advocate Christ in critical condition.

A woman who was 18 years old and sitting in the back passenger seat got a small cut on her shoulder. She was taken to Advocate Christ Hospital in good condition.

No arrests were made.
