The son of Étienne Savinel, Marie-Josèphe Savinel, was a fashion icon in her own right and reportedly had a “fascination for Dior.” His father, businessman Jean Léon Arnault, an École Centrale Paris alumnus, established the civil engineering company Ferret-Savinel.
