Entertainment Tonight says that Valerie filed for a divorce from Tom at the Los Angeles Superior Court of California on May 12, 2022, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split.
The couple first told the world they were splitting up in November 2021, but they were said to have been apart since December 1, 2019. ET has found out that they don’t have any kids together and have a prenuptial agreement.

How Did Valerie And Tom Meet Each other?
Fans following Valerie’s career may remember that she was once married to rock star Eddie Van Halen. They got married in 1981. On March 16, 1991, Wolfgang was born to the two people who used to be together. After 20 years of marriage, the couple broke up in 2001 and got a divorce six years later. Eddie died on October 6, 2020, after fighting cancer for a long time.
Valerie and Tom met in 2004. Valerie’s brother, Patrick Bertinelli, was the one who brought them together. They liked each other right away, and they were together for the next six years.
In 2010, Tom decided it was time to ask Valerie to marry him. Valerie talked about this in an AARP interview at the time.
“We had talked about getting married, but I was still surprised,” she told the company for their magazine’s July/August 2010 issue. “Because he was so scared, it was sweet that he asked me.” I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?'”
