Who Is The New Superman? The Man of Steel era of Henry Cavill has ended. Only a month prior, Henry Cavill’s Superman was reintroduced in the post-credits sequence of Black Adam, facing up against Dwayne Johnson. After that, Cavill declared that he will be returning for Man of Steel 2, and Johnson hinted at a Black Adam vs. Superman project. All of that desire fulfillment seems to have been wasted when Warner Bros. Discovery appointed DC Studios’ co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. Although the two intend to meet with David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, in the coming weeks, one of the first dominoes to fall has already been exposed.
On Twitter, James Gunn revealed that he had met with Henry Cavill to break the sad news that WB will be reinventing Superman, which would mean Cavill would no longer be playing the Man of Steel. There have been rumors that Cavill would later portray a different DC superhero, though.
“It’s awful news for everyone, and I just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran. After all, I won’t be coming back as Superman “On Instagram, Henry Cavill posted a statement. “This news isn’t the simplest to share since the studio instructed me to do so back in October before they were hired, but that’s reality. An event that takes place is the changing of the guard. I honor that. James and Peter need to create a universe. I send my best wishes and luck to them and everyone else participating with the new universe. For those who have been by my side throughout the years, we can grieve for a while, but we must keep in mind that Superman is still alive. The ideals he upholds and the standards he sets for us are still in place! Although it’s no longer my turn to don the cape, what Superman stands for will always exist. Together, we’ve had a great time moving forward and upward.”
Who Is the New Superman?
Naturally, fans have already started to make predictions about who might succeed Henry Cavill as Superman. While some fans suggest some intriguing alternatives, a sizable portion simply wants Cavill to continue in the role.
