White Lotus’ Season 2 Romantic Scene: Tonight, the second season of The White Lotus started on HBO. We met a (mostly) new cast of annoyingly wealthy resort guests and the locals who get caught in the middle. But it wasn’t a completely new place. Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) and Greg (Jon Gries) came back and writer and director Mike White brought back many of the things that made Season 1 of The White Lotus so popular, like those uncomfortable naked scenes. In the first episode of Season 2 of White Lotus, called “Ciao,” newcomer Theo James makes the confused character played by Aubrey Plaza look like a fool. It’s a moment that not only reminds us of how awkwardly Season 1 introduced Steve Zahn’s character Mark Mossbacher but also makes a relationship that was already complicated even more complicated.
The second season of The White Lotus on HBO takes place in a White Lotus resort in Sicily, near Roman ruins and beautiful Renaissance villas. Cameron (Theo James), a spoiled rich boy and his beautiful and bubbly wife Daphne (Meghann Fahy) have invited Cameron’s college roommate Ethan (Will Sharpe) and his much more irritable wife Harper (Aubrey Plaza) to Sicily for a luxurious vacation. Harper gets angry as soon as she sees Cameron and Daphne together. The lawyer who has done well for himself doesn’t believe that the golden couple has a perfect marriage. He thinks that Cameron only invited them because Ethan just sold his tech start-up for a lot of money.
Cameron’s luggage got lost on the way to Italy, so Ethan offers to lend one of his swim trunks to his old college friend. Cameron then goes back to Harper’s room with her to get the swimsuit. Harper, on the other hand, is looking for her sunscreen. While Harper is in her bathroom looking for the SPF, Cameron follows her there and immediately takes off his pants and underwear. We see things from Harper’s point of view, so we can see Cameron’s bare butt and a hint of his genitalia in the bathroom mirror. Harper stops and doesn’t know what to do.
Decider had to ask Theo James and Aubrey Plaza, who play the leads in White Lotus, about this “uncomfortable” naked scene.
“Well, you say ‘uncomfy.’ “It probably feels good to him,” Theo James said, describing Cameron’s point of view. “You know, what Mike [White] does is he plays the line and even more so in the edit than it was on the page. He plays the line between whether Cameron did it on purpose, was it clever, was it manipulative, or was just because he’s a loud, confident person who is innocent.
Aubrey Plaza said in a dry way that Harper, who is usually very talkative, didn’t say anything to Cameron because she had to “follow the script and say her lines.”
Still, Plaza thought that it was “fun to shoot.”
“You know, it was the first time Harper and Cameron were alone. And it is full. “It just feels like a lot of weight,” Plaza said. “You’ve already seen them fight, so you’re like, “What are they going to do when they’re alone?” It seems that Cameron gets naked when no one is around.
