If Kelsey Turner’s name seems familiar to you, it’s probably because the 29-year-old once appeared in magazines with explicit content, like Maxim and Playboy. Turner’s life has, however, significantly changed since her days as a socialite and bikini model.
In 2017, Turner was brought to Dr. Thomas Burchard, a child psychiatrist, and things started to change. Turner was allegedly treated like a “sugar daddy” by Dr. Burchard, and it seems that avarice got the better of Turner.
Dr. Burchard and Turner had been dating for two years when they apparently had an argument, and Turner allegedly gave her then-boyfriend, Jon Logan Kennison, the order to kill the doctor. Turner and Kennison were consequently detained in April 2019.
Viewers are curious about Turner’s current whereabouts in an upcoming 20/20 segment. The verdict has been delivered, and it’s not nice. Here is all we are aware of.
Where is Kelsey Turner Now? The Incident is Covered by ABC’s “20/20”
Turner will spend a considerable amount of time living inside a state prison. Turner opted to accept a plea agreement in November 2022, according to KTNV, via court documents from Clark County that the station could obtain.
Turner chose to accept the charge of second-degree murder in the plea agreement even though she maintained her innocence, a move known as an Alford plea.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Turner was sentenced to 10 to 25 years in jail on Tuesday, January 11, 2023. The Nevada Department of Prisons will be where she serves out her sentence.
Given that this was Turner’s first offence, the sentence was accepted by both the defence and the prosecution.
“I do wholeheartedly disagree with the state’s recitation of the facts,” chief deputy Special Public Defender Ashley Sisolak said in an emailed statement, per the outlet. “I am, however, glad that Kelsey will have a chance at rebuilding her life moving forward. I am also grateful for the closure for all parties.”
In July 2022, Kennison received a state jail term of 18 to 45 years.
According to KLAS, Diana Pea, Turner and Kennison’s former roommate reportedly gave the prosecution crucial evidence. She did, however, also admit to being a murder accessory. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Pêna admitted in court that she assisted in cleaning up the crime scene and left the country with the couple.
When Chris Connolly, host of ABC’s 20/20, speaks with a woman who claims to have seen the crime firsthand on February 24 at 9 p.m., further information will become available.
Exclusive interviews with Turner’s pals and with Detectives Mitchell Dosch and Ryan Jaeger from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department will also be included of the two-hour episode.

Why Was Dr. Thomas Buchard Killed?
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, when Kennison visited Turner in Las Vegas, Turner gave him the order to kill Dr. Burchard. At the beginning of their relationship, Dr. Buchard had been Turner’s benefactor, aiding her and her child.
According to KTNVa, Dr. Burchard informed Turner that he would no longer be paying for her way of life when he visited her home one day. The infuriated Turner ordered Kennison to beat the 71-year-old child psychotherapist with a bat. The couple then placed his body in the Mercedes-trunk Benz’s, where it was discovered by police in March 2019.
We send Dr. Thomas Burchard’s family and friends our sincere sympathies.
