This week, Netflix finally releases one of the most-anticipated new shows of the year. Wednesday, based on the famous Addams Family character with the same name, comes to the streamer on November 23. This one is a real treat for viewers. The series is just as mysterious and scary as the other Addams Family books, but it adds a new twist to the story by following Wednesday at her new boarding school, away from her parents.
We don’t blame you if, as you watch all eight episodes this week, you start to wonder if the places you see on your screen are real. In the new series, Wednesday lives with her family in New Jersey, but she goes to her new school in Vermont. Jericho, the town next door, is a real place, and so is Nevermore Academy.
Is Nevermore Academy A Real Place?
Even though the weird school for misfits and monsters looks cool, it’s not a real school. The people who made Wednesday made up the school, but that doesn’t make it any less fun. The students at Nevermore Academy are werewolves, gorgons, psychics, sirens, and other mythical creatures, as shown in the show. At this school, there’s never a dull moment!
Where Was Wednesday Filmed?
Filming took place in Romania from September 2021 to March 2022. Wednesday premiered on November 16, 2022, and was available on Netflix on November 23. Most critics liked it, and Ortega’s performance was praised, but the show was criticized for being similar to CW dramas.
