The Wilds was an important show for Prime Video and Amazon Studios. It was one of the last shows that the late Jamie Tarses created and produced. It was one of the first YA pilots ordered by Amazon Studios after Jennifer Salke took over as head of the company. This was part of an effort to grow in this area. It was the first YA show to premiere on Prime Video and the first to get a second season.
Prime Video still has a lot of young-adult content, like The Summer I Turned Pretty, The Boys Presents: Diabolical and Invincible, and the upcoming series Shelter, which is based on the first book in the Mickey Bolitar trilogy by best-selling author Harlan Coben.

The plot of The Wilds was always compared to that of Showtime’s Yellowjackets. When it premiered on December 11, 2020, it got a lot of attention and was quickly renewed. Since the show came back in May, people have been less excited about it.
Season 2 of The Wilds keeps up with the scary story of eight teenage girls who are left alone on a deserted island for unknown reasons. The new season is also about a new group of boys who are all survivors and are in the same dangerous situation. Both groups have to deal with emotional and physical problems because of how bad their situations are.

Rachel Griffiths, David Sullivan, Troy Winbush, Sophia Ali, Sarah Pidgeon, Jenna Clause, Erana James, Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Reign Edwards, and Shannon Berry are all in the show. Zack Calderon, Aidan Laprete, Nicholas Coombe, Charles Alexander, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Reed Shannon, Tanner Ray Rook, and Alex Fitzalan joined the second group of survivors in Season 2.

Sarah Streicher made The Wilds, and she, showrunner Amy Harris, the late Tarses of Fanfare, and Dylan Clark all worked as executive producers for Dylan Clark Productions. The show was made by Amazon Studios and Disney Television Studios’ ABC Signature.
