The Rig starts with a small crew getting ready to head to the mainland, but issues soon start to pop up with an alarming urgency. The occurrences initially don’t appear all that unusual; a suddenly poor power supply causes erratic outages throughout the rig and “shakes” that seem to emanate from underneath the building soon after.

But surely there’s a reason behind everything, right? Since the team is drilling for oil, it only makes sense that there will be some disturbance from the ground below.

Is There a Trailer for The Rig?

On November 30, 2022, Prime Video posted a trailer for The Rig on their official YouTube channel. Leader Magnus informs the team that they won’t be departing for the mainland as scheduled and that they should keep working until they can do so in the opening scene of the trailer.

We also witness the start of paranormal activities on the site, including flickering lights, power outages in the team’s housing, and earth tremors. The crew initially thinks that the oil drilling activity taking place on the rig can account for these occurrences, but soon enough they notice a foreboding fog moving across the ocean in their direction.

The gang starts to understand that what is happening to them is unnatural as the fog envelops them. It is obvious from viewing the trailer that Magnus and Rose will play a significant role in unraveling the mystery. Rose observes that the crew members have started to exhibit psychological issues since the fog set in.

Rose continues her investigation and realizes that “something old” is awakening as the team slips further into a frightened frenzy and starts fighting among themselves. The suspenseful action-packed teaser comes to a thrilling conclusion when Rose, who appears to be speaking to someone off-screen, declares, “We’re listening now.”
