The Pentaverate Season 2: In his brand-new May 5th Netflix series The Pentaverate, Mike Myers returned to his origins by portraying various characters. However, it turns out the show was always intended to be a limited series despite others guessing otherwise. After one week on the platform, the show has failed to create a mark suggesting a season 2 isn’t on the cards.
On May 5th, six episodes of the new comedy series premiered. A Canadian journalist got into trouble while looking into a shadowy conspiracy group called The Pentaverate that resembles organizations like The Illuminati.
Why Won’t The Pentaverate Return For A Season 2?
Because it was intended and created as a limited series, The Pentaverate won’t return to Netflix for a season 2. However, it wasn’t the intended course of action in this instance. That is not to suggest that if the show became an overnight hit, more couldn’t be done.
At least early in its creation, we can see that every single instance of the show’s promotion on Netflix (including press releases to the trades) refers to it as a limited series. Deadline referred to the program as a “half-hour comedic limited series” in June 2021. It’s important to note that later stories failed to mention the series’ brief run.
Since Netflix identifies the show as “season 1” rather than a “limited series,” as most other mini-series on the service do, this seems to be the area that causes the most significant confusion. According to reports, “the plot is at least planned to continue,” although that isn’t the case.
This appeared to be an “event” title, as Netflix has been calling to some of its limited series in recent months. The release was described as a “comedy series event” in the teaser.
Of course, the show ends satisfactorily in any case, so a second season is not necessary. The Pentaverate, now known as The Septaverate, was destroyed by the end of season 1, thanks to our hero Ken Scarborough. They made considerable adjustments, the most notable of which is the increase from 5 to 7 members.
