StubHub Lists Taylor Swift Tickets for Hundreds After Millions Flood Ticketmaster

When pre-sales for Taylor Swift’s new tour went online on Tuesday, there was so much demand that Ticketmaster couldn’t keep up. This made fans of the singer very angry.

Many fans thought they would never, ever get tickets because of the delays. But tickets for the pop star’s “The Eras Tour” were for sale on the resale market on Wednesday, and some of them cost tens of thousands of dollars.

On the site StubHub, tickets to Swift’s May 26 show at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, can go for as much as $21,600 each. Fans will get a spot on the floor in front of the stage for that price. On Stubhub, it will cost at least $350 to just get into the stadium.

These sky-high prices aren’t just for shows at MetLife, which is right outside of New York City. Swift’s 52-show tour is also getting crazy amounts of money for other dates.

The tour starts on March 17 in Glendale, Arizona, and the most expensive floor seats are going for as much as $17,010. The most expensive floor seats for Swift’s show in Atlanta on April 28 are going for as much as $35,438.

To give you an idea of what these numbers mean, the average price of a ticket to last year’s Super Bowl between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles was $10,427, and the cheapest seat cost about $7,000.

A representative for StubHub told CNN Business on Wednesday that the resale site sold many Swift tickets for around $150, with the average price being around the middle $600. But they said that right now is only the pre-sale period, so “demand is at its highest and prices will go down.”

The company also pointed out that “that listing prices aren’t an indication of demand or what the market can bear.” As for Ticketmaster, the company said Tuesday on Twitter that “millions of people have shown up” to buy tickets for Swift’s tour, which is “historically unprecedented.”

The company told customers still in the virtual line that things are moving along and to “hang tight.” Swift’s tour, which ends on August 9 in Los Angeles, is in high demand and costs a lot of money. This shows how popular she is.

Swift has had a lot of hits over the course of her career, and her fans, who call themselves “Swifties,” are very loyal. With the release of her latest album, “Midnights,” last month, she became the first artist to hold all ten top spots on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time.
