Stand by Me is a 1986 coming-of-age comedy film based on Stephen King’s 1982 novella The Body. The plot revolves around a group of four boys who go on a trip and come across the body of a missing boy.

Stand by Me is a fantastic film with famous music depicting various issues, such as losing innocence and growing up. One of the film’s most striking aspects is its superb cast and in-depth discussions.

Even though the principal performers were all relatively young, they all performed admirably in their roles in the picture. The film received Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations.

At the 8th Youth in Film Awards, it got the Jackie Coogan Award for Outstanding Contribution to Youth Through Motion Picture – Ensemble Cast in a Feature Film.

John Cusack (Denny)

Denny, Gordie’s older brother, was played by John Cusack, who d!ed before the film’s events took place. On the other hand, Denny continues to significantly impact the lives of the family members he left behind. Gordie and Denny’s parents are still grieving the deαth of their firstborn son, to the point of neglecting their live son.

Denny is usually seen in flashbacks, which Cusack represents. Many people may recognize Cusack from films such as Say Anything (1989), Bullets Over Broadway (1994), Con Air (1997), Being John Malkovich (1999), Serendipity (2001), Hot Tub Time Machine (2010), and High Fidelity (2000). He even received a Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal in the latter film.

Cusack’s abilities extend beyond only acting in front of the camera. He’s as talented, if not more, behind the camera as he is in front of it.

He’s worked on several films, including War, Inc. (2008) and High Fidelity (2000). Cusack’s most recent film appearance was as John Calloway in the action picture Pursuit, released in 2022.

Kiefer Sutherland (Ace)

In Stand by Me, Kiefer Sutherland plays John “Ace” Merill, the slightly insane gang leader who terrorizes Gordie and his friends.

Sutherland later gained fame with his part in The Lost Boys (1987). After that, Sutherland gradually rose to fame, becoming more famous with each piece he took.

Young Guns (1988), A Few Good Men (1992), The Three Musketeers (1993), Phone Booth (2002), Melancholia (2011), Pompeii (2014), and Flatliners (1990) are some of his more memorable roles.

Sutherland is best recognized for portraying Jack Bauer in the Fox drama series 24 (2001-2010, 2014). He even won an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards for his performance.

He recently appeared in the films The Contractor (2022), They Cloned Tyrone (2022), and The First Lady (2022). He will also play John Weir in the new spy thriller Rabbit Hole, set to launch in early 2023.

Sutherland’s impact has also spread to other entertainment business areas, such as music and gaming. The actor portrayed Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Sutherland published his first music album, Down in a Hole 2016. In 2019, his band also launched a second album titled Reckless and Me. Sutherland has been relatively active, working in numerous aspects of the entertainment industry.

Jerry O’Connell (Vern)

Sutherland’s impact has also spread to other aspects of the entertainment business, such as music and gaming. The actor voiced Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Sutherland also published his debut music CD, Down in a Hole 2016.

In 2019, his band released a second album titled Reckless and Me. Sutherland has had a hectic career in the entertainment sector.

Corey Feldman (Teddy)

Teddy Duchamp is played by Corey Feldman in Stand by Me. Like the other boys in the film, Teddy experiences the loss of his boyhood, which causes him to lash out in several ways. Like his co-star Kiefer Sutherland, Feldman rose to prominence with his appearance in The Lost Boys.

He co-starred in the horror picture with Corey Haim, and the two became known as The Two Coreys. Feldman’s most well-known works were Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984), Gremlins (1984), and The Goonies (1985).

Feldman’s most notable work is his documentary, (My) Truth: The Rape of Two Coreys (2020), about the s*xual assault he and Haim experienced as child performers.

River Phoenix (Chris)

Phoenix’s performance as Chris was so impressive that The Washington Post said he “gave the film its center of gravity.”

Not long after his portrayal in Stand by Me, the late actor moved on to more mature roles, such as Danny Pope in Running on Empathy (1988), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
