Severance Season 2 is, without a doubt, one of the best shows of 2022. The good news is that you can watch the first season again whenever you want (and we recommend that you do), but waiting for the second season will still be hard. The show is now filming, which is good news. Eight new cast members, including John Noble, Gwendoline Christie, and Merritt Wever, are joining the show’s impressive group of actors. Now is a good time to start taking bets on who will play a severed employee.
The sci-fi drama, which used to be called “the best show no one was talking about,” was picked up for a second season by Apple TV+ before the first season was even over. Read on to find out what we know about Severance Season 2.

Severance Season 2 of the show is already being filmed, but we don’t know when we’ll see new episodes. Stiller told us this back in April when a fan asked him on Twitter how long we would have to wait. He said that we should all choose to be patient.
Okay Mr. @BenStiller, you really expect us to wait over a year for season 2?

Severance Season 2: When Will We See First Teaser?
No doubt it’s taking a long time to find out when Severance season 2 will start. Filming has been going on for over a month, but in the grand scheme, that is still not very long. We’ll have to wait and see what happens, even though that’s not always the easiest thing to do.
We’ve said this a few times in the last few months: the earliest new episodes could come to Apple TV+ is in the summer. That makes sense when you think that shooting is supposed to go on until the spring, and there is still a chance that it could go on until the fall. After a great first season, people have a lot of hopes for Severance, so we think it’s best not to rush out more episodes immediately. The same is true for a campaign to get the word out.
So, when will we see the first real teaser for the new season? If Apple TV+ promotes season 2 like we think it will, we think the first clips will start to come out about two or three months before the show comes back. For example, if the show starts next August, we might see something in May or June.
This is where we remind you that there’s a difference between a teaser and a trailer, with the latter showing more complete footage to get you excited about what’s to come. For season 2, you probably won’t get that until a month or a half before the show starts. Even when we do, we usually think the streaming service will be careful. Given how complicated this story is and how season 1 ended, we think the writers will want to keep their cards close to their chest for as long as possible.

Is Severance based on a true story?
“Severance” isn’t a true story. That much is clear. It’s not based on an exposé or a documentary. It’s also not based on Ling Ma’s book from 2018, which caused some confusion initially. But its eerie ability to show how it feels to work for a living strikes a powerful chord with many people’s daily lives.
