‘Saturday Night Live Returns for Season 48 In October

Saturday Night Live is back. After a season with a lot of new people, big world events, and great first-time guests, Season 48 will try to keep up the show’s long history of making people laugh in the middle of all the chaos. Now, the new season will start on October 1, with new episodes coming out every week until October 8 and 15.

Season 47 of the sketch comedy show was one of the biggest in its history. Even though several of the show’s most famous actors left, like Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, and Kyle Mooney, the quality of the show stayed high thanks to new writers and a large cast. Young talent was able to keep the ship on course, and because of them, the show got another Emmy nomination for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series and has been the number one comedy Show on TV for the past three seasons among people ages 18 to 49.

One of the best things about the last season was having guests host. It was great to see Paul Rudd and John Mulaney join the very exclusive Five-Timers Club, but it was the first-time guests like Kim Kardashian, Oscar Isaac, Billie Eilish, Jerrod Carmichael, Zo Kravitz, Natasha Lyonne, and Will Forte who really made the season stand out. At the moment, there are no guests planned for Season 48. However, just last month, the show asked fans on its official Twitter account who they’d most like to see in upcoming episodes.

After several people left at the end of Season 47, Season 48 will have a much smaller cast. Heidi Gardner, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, James Austin, Punkie Johnson, Bowen Yang, Michael Che, Colin Jost, Ego Nwodim, Chris Redd, Sherman, and Cecily Strong are all set to return. Kenan Thompson, who has been with the show for a long time, will be in charge again.

As an executive producer, SNL creator Lorne Michaels is also back. The show is made with the help of Broadway Video. Even though Thompson and Michaels have been with the show for so long, they are both of the mind that it could end after 50 seasons, or at the very least, they would quit at 50. But for now, they are both still on board and ready to make more fun stuff together.
