Chelsea’s ‘Straight Conversations’ Inter Wants To Sign Romelu Lukaku

Born on May 13th, 1993, Romelu Lukaku Bolingoli is a Belgian professional footballer who currently plays for Chelsea in the Premier League and the Belgian national team.

While at Anderlecht, Lukaku was named the league’s top scorer and won the Belgian Pro League title in his rookie season. A £10 million (€12 million) move to Chelsea in 2011 resulted in loan spells at West Bromwich Albion and Everton a £28 million (€32 million) move to Everton in 2014 resulted in Lukaku finishing as the league’s second-highest goalscorer.

Inter Milan signed him in a club-record deal worth €80 million (£68.1 million), and he went on to win the Serie A title and the Serie A Most Valuable Player award with the club in 2019 after the breakdown in relations with Manchester United.

Romelu Lukaku is eager to return to Inter, and Chelsea and Inter are set to meet to discuss the Belgian striker’s future.

Romelu Lukaku joined Chelsea in the summer of 2013 for a fee in excess of £100 million, but he has struggled to live up to his potential. Lukaku is reportedly keen to return to the Italian side with direct communication between Chelsea and Inter set to start this week.

The Belgium international apologized for his comments during the 2021/22 season in which he declared his love for his former side and admitted he was ‘not happy with his situation at Chelsea. Lukaku is looking for a way out of Stamford Bridge after Thomas Tuchel chose to play him over Kai Havertz for the majority of this season.

Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, claims that Inter has begun ‘direct talks’ with Chelsea about the possible transfer of Romelu Lukaku, with a loan deal appearing to be the most likely outcome. Despite scoring 15 goals in 44 appearances for Chelsea last season, Romelu Lukaku’s return to Stamford Bridge was marked by a lack of goalscoring opportunities.

Having held talks with Chelsea about a move away this summer, the 29-year-old has been looking for a new club for some time now. Also at Stamford Bridge, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, and Timo Werner’s futures are up in the air.

Ousmane Dembele, Christopher Nkunku, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, Raphinha, Richarlison, Lautaro Martinez, Serge Gnabry, and Neymar have all been linked with Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window. New owner Todd Boehly has brought in a new era at the club, and manager Thomas Tuchel will have a difficult task in rebuilding the team in order to compete on all fronts next season.
