Returnal Comes To PC on February 15…How Much Its Price?

Returnal’s basic system requirements shocked users when they told them they needed 32GB of RAM in December. In its recent announcement of the game’s release date, Sony added to and slightly changed its system requirements. It also confirmed a few features that are only available on PC. If you don’t want to play Returnal in 4K, you can get by with just 16GB of RAM. Everything you need to know about it…..

When Will Returnal Come Out?

Returnal, a game that used to be exclusive to the PlayStation 5, will be coming to PC on February 15. You’ll need a pretty powerful setup to play at 60 frames per second, especially in 4K or with ray tracing like some other games coming out in the first quarter of 2023.

System Requirements For The Returnal

The minimum system requirements for the returnal third-person shooter haven’t changed since December: you need an Intel Core i5-6400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X processor, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580 graphics card, and 16GB of RAM to play the game at 720p and 60 fps with low graphics settings.

But 32GB of RAM, a Core i7-8700 or Ryzen 7 2700X, and an RTX 2070 Super or RX 6700 XT were on the list of recommended specs before. Returnal can be played at 1080p and 60 fps on high settings with the same hardware and 16 GB of RAM, according to the new requirements.

Other games coming out soon, like the remake of Dead Space, Forspoken, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, also recommend a GPU with 16GB of system memory: 2070, 3070, 6700, or 6800. Cards like the GTX 1060 and RX 580, once very popular, have dropped to the minimum spec.

Sony added a “medium” requirement between “minimum” and “recommended.” It suggests 16GB of RAM, a Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, and a GTX 1070 or RX 5600 XT play at 1080p and 60fps on medium settings.

Only in Returnal’s “Epic” and “Ray Tracing” requirements does the infamous 32GB recommendation show up. Sony recommends an RTX 3080 or an RX 6800 XT to play the game in 4K with the highest settings but without ray tracing. Adding RT doesn’t seem to change the recommended GPU much, as a 3080 Ti or 6950 XT is still recommended. For 4K gameplay, Square Enix’s new game Forspoken, which comes out on January 24, also suggests 32GB of RAM.

Sony also said this week that the PC version of Returnal supports ray-traced shadows and reflections, just like the PS5 version. By turning on DLSS and FSR upscaling, users should be able to lessen the effect of ray tracing on performance. The game will also have settings for Nvidia Image Scaling that can be used instead of FSR for people who don’t have RTX graphics cards.

The PC version supports ultra-widescreen 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratios. The DualSense controller brings haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to the desktop, but it needs to be wired in.

How Much It Costs?

Returnal will cost $59.99 when it comes out next month on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
