Rapper Tory Lanez Found Guilty of Shooting Megan Thee Stallion At Party

Hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion was shot in the foot by rapper Tory Lanez after a 2020 party in the Hollywood Hills.

The Canadian rapper, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was found guilty of assault and having weapons on Friday afternoon in Los Angeles. He could spend more than 20 years in prison.

A jury heard that Megan Thee Stallion was shot after she and Tory got into a fight in his SUV on the way home from a party at Kylie Jenner’s house.

Megan, who is 27, said that they got really angry when they started criticizing each other’s music careers.

According to The Associated Press, the “Sweetest Pie” rapper said, “I feel like that really rubbed him the wrong way.” “He couldn’t stop yelling and swearing.”

She had to have surgery to get bullet pieces out of her feet, and she said that Tory, who was on probation at the time, offered her $1 million to keep quiet about what happened.

Tory’s lawyer said that Kelsey Harris, who used to be Megan’s best friend, was the one who fired the shots because she was jealous of Peterson, and that Tory had tried to stop the shooting.

“Megan Pete is dishonest. “She lied about everything from the beginning of this case,” her lawyer, George Mgdesyan, said. “This is where she lied under oath.”

Harris has said that she didn’t pull the trigger and that Tory did. Tory, who was handcuffed and wearing a pink coat and pants in court, did not move when the verdict was read.

But when the jury left the courtroom, the rapper’s dad yelled at the police.

“God will judge this evil system!” he shouted before calling the prosecutors “evil, wicked people.” On January 27, Tory, who is 30, will get a sentence.

In a statement released after the verdict, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón praised Megan’s “courage” and said that despite “repeated and grotesque attacks,” she showed “incredible courage and vulnerability.”
