Powerful Winter Storm To Hit Midwest

This week, the Plains and Upper Midwest could get more than a foot of snow from another strong winter storm.

The National Weather Service (NWS) said that Nebraska, South Dakota, and Minnesota could have “intense” snow rates and strong wind gusts through Tuesday.

“A big winter storm is headed for the Plains and Upper Midwest. Some places are likely to get a lot of heavy snow and a lot of ice,” the NWS tweeted.

Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota could get between 6 and 15 inches of snow by Tuesday evening.

The NWS warned that fast winds and snow gusts could knock out power, damage trees, and make it hard to see in those states.

On Monday, a winter weather advisory was put out for Colorado, where some places could get up to five inches of snow by Tuesday.

Wyoming is also under a winter weather advisory until 11 p.m. on Monday. Some places, like Natrona County, could get up to 3 inches of snow and 40 mph wind gusts.
