Patrick Mahomes Refers To Brother Jackson’s Arrest As a ‘Private Situation’

Patrick Mahomes is speaking out about his younger brother’s recent incarceration.

Jackson Mahomes, 22, was arrested on a warrant for aggravated s*xual battery on May 3 in Johnson County, Kan., the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office previously confirmed. According to CNN, he was released the same day.

In response to the news, Patrick said he wishes to keep the situation out of the public eye.

“It’s a kind of personal thing that I just want to keep to myself,” Patrick remarked of Jackson’s arrest during a press conference on May 24. “At the end of the day, I come here to play football while also caring for my family.” So I’ll just keep it to myself and play football while I’m in the building.”

When asked how he balances his personal and professional lives, Patrick said, “That’s a process everyone must navigate in life.”

“Obviously, I’m on a bigger stage, but at the same time, it’s your family,” the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback stated. “You have to come in here and do your job, which I try to do daily.”

According to The Kansas City Star, Jackson’s arrest arose from an incident on Feb. 25 in which the 22-year-old allegedly assaulted a restaurant server waiter by pushing them many times and aggressively kissing the eatery’s owner Aspen Vaughn against her consent.

Jackson proceeded down to the restaurant’s basement and allegedly shoved them to get access to an employee area. Aspen, Jackson then demanded to talk with her about the anonymous waiter, but inside her office, he allegedly grabbed her neck and kissed her.

“He forcibly kissed me out of nowhere,” Aspen told the publication, “and I’m telling him, pushing him off saying ‘What are you doing?’ and then he proceeded to do it two more times, the last time I was pushing him off and I can see on the cameras that somebody was outside the office door and I was yelling for them to come help because he’s big and massive.”

Jackson’s attorney, Brandan Davies, has refuted the charges, saying that Jackson “has done nothing wrong.”
