NYPD Launches Investigation Into Random Subway Attack On Woman

A 35-year-old lady was taken to the hospital after being pushed into a metro train. It happened at the Lexington Avenue-63rd Street station on Sunday morning.

Police are seeking assistance in identifying the suspect. Police have released a photo of the guy they believe shoved a 35-year-old woman into a train. It happened shortly after 6 a.m. on Sunday.

The woman was walking on the southbound platform of the Lexington Avenue-63rd Street station when a man approached her from behind and shoved her.

Police she had no prior interaction with the perpetrator, and no words were spoken. The woman is in critical condition after having spinal surgery and sustaining head lacerations.

Riders at the station where the incident occurred spoke out. “Sadly, it’s not surprising because it happens more frequently nowadays,” remarked Mei Liu, a metro rider.

“Not often, but often enough.” Enough already. So now is the time for a shift. “It’s time to take action,” straphanger Regina Thompson remarked.

“It’s heartbreaking. “It should never be considered normal, but of course, it’s just gotten to the point in New York City where this is just a regular occurrence,” Passengers United’s Jack Nierenberg said.

Nierenberg advises standing as far back on the platform as possible until improved safety precautions are in place.

“Be especially vigilant, no matter where you are, because you never know if someone is going to push you or do anything to you,” Nierenberg advised.
