According to reports, New Jersey Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour was shot and killed outside of her home on Wednesday night.
The New Jersey Globe said that Dwumfour’s body was found in her car after police reported shots being fired near the Camelot at La Mer apartment complex in Sayreville, NJ.
Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Sayreville police chief Daniel Plumwacker said in a statement that Dwumfour was pronounced dead at the scene. Dwumfour was a Republican and had been a councilwoman for the Borough of Sayreville since 2021.

The death of Dwumfour is being looked into as a possible murder, according to reports. As of early Thursday, no one had been caught.
In November 2021, Dwumfour, a Republican, was chosen to fill the seat. She wouldn’t have to run again until 2024.
Dwumfour worked for Fire Congress Fellowship Inc. as a part-time EMT and as a Certified Business Analyst and Scrum Professional. Her LinkedIn page says she was also a Director of Churches for the Champions Royal Assembly in Nigeria.
