Why Does AMC+ Cancel Moonhaven Season 2?

Moonhaven Season 2: It seems like this moon colony is ending its work. AMC+ said that Moonhaven would not return for a second season after all. After only one season, the streamer is getting rid of Moonhaven. This comes after it was said in July that the show would be back for a second season. Moonhaven’s second season was supposed to come out in 2023.

The shocking news came just a few days after AMC Networks said it would take wide-ranging and drastic steps to cut costs.

The cancellation of Moonhaven comes after the news that CEO Christina Spade is leaving her job. Also, 20% of the company’s employees will be let go. It looks like Moonhaven’s cancellation is just one of many things the company has to give up because of money problems.

Still, it is strange that Moonhaven has to undergo this kind of change, since the show did well on the streaming app. AMC Networks didn’t hide the fact that Moonhaven was a hit. They said it was their most-watched AMC+ exclusive show and the second-most-watched new one after Dark Winds.

Peter Ocko made Moonhaven and was also in charge of running the show. The show was about a colony on the Moon that might have the answer to how to keep life going on Earth. The story takes place 100 years from now.

And it tells the story of Bella Sway, a smuggler who gets stuck in the isolated colony of Moonhaven, which claims to be a place where miracles happen all the time. But Bella starts to doubt what’s happening behind the colony’s scenes and sets out on a mission to find out the truth and save the world. Dominic Monaghan, Emma McDonald, Amara Karan, Ayelet Zurer, Joe Manganiello, Kadeem Hardison, and Yazzmin Newell were some of the actors in the show.
