Michael Jackson Children: How Many Kids Do They Have?

Michael Jackson’s three children have spent their entire lives in the spotlight: Prince, 26, Paris, 25, and Bigi (previously known as Blanket), 21.

When they were young, the pop star shielded them from the paparazzi with elaborate masks and veils. Jackson’s longtime security told PEOPLE 2007 that the children were “well-mannered, well-behaved kids. They are quite calm.” The singer’s publicist said, “They were Michael’s first priority.”

However, following Jackson’s deαth in June 2009, the children became increasingly visible in public, beginning with Paris’s brief, impromptu speech at her father’s burial.

“Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine since I was born.” And I just want to say how much I adore him,” Paris, who was only 11 years old then, stated.

Today, the siblings pursue their own interests and endeavors while remaining close. “At this stage in our lives, it doesn’t feel like there’s that hierarchy of, ‘I’m the older brother,’ ” Prince remarked in 2021.

“It’s more [that] we’re all siblings, and we’re kind of on the same level where my sister has her strengths and my brother has his strengths, and where I’m not as strong in certain areas, they complement me in that way.”

The three find time for one another whenever possible despite their hectic schedules. “Any moment that I get to spend with my siblings now, especially as we’re getting older and our own lives are starting to blossom and grow, every moment that I get with them, any little family dinner, any family outing, is a special moment.”

Prince Michael Jackson, 26

Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., Jackson’s first child with ex-wife Debbie Rowe, was born in Los Angeles on February 13, 1997. Macaulay Culkin and Elizabeth Taylor are his godparents, and he is usually referred to as Prince Michael Jackson.

“Words cannot express how I feel… “I have been blessed beyond measure, and I will work tirelessly to be the best father I can possibly be,” Jackson said in a statement.

“I grew up in a fish bowl and will not allow my child to do the same.” Please respect our requests and allow my youngster to have his privacy.”

Jackson and Rowe divorced in 1999, and Jackson was granted exclusive custody of the children. The children grew raised at his Neverland Ranch, and after their father d!ed, the siblings moved in with Katherine Jackson, their grandmother.

2019 Prince earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Loyola Marymount University. He is a motorbike enthusiast with a YouTube channel dedicated to his travels across California and a few videos critiquing movies with his brother Bigi and cousin Taj Jackson.

Prince co-founded Heal Los Angeles with a friend while a student at Loyola Marymount University. Heal teamed with a meal delivery service in 2020 to provide meals to needy individuals during the epidemic. He said his father would have been “proud” of his accomplishments.

“I would like to think that he would be very proud because I think this was one of his main goals, not only to spread his message of positivity and happiness but to see it enacted in his kids,” he said. “I’m very grateful that I have this feeling that it’s this collaborative ecosystem — that we all need to help each other — and that came from how he raised us.”

At a gathering commemorating the 40th anniversary of Thriller in October 2022, Prince told what he misses most about Jackson.

“I think about him every day,” he confessed. “His hands are probably what I miss the most about him.” He had pretty large, powerful hands. They were firm but gentle. It’s difficult to put into words.”

Paris Jackson, 25

Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson was born in Los Angeles on April 3, 1998, to Jackson and Rowe. Katherine was called after the city where she was born, her father, and her grandmother.

Paris struggled publicly following her father’s deαth in 2009, telling Rolling Stone that she’d attempted suicide “multiple times” before age 15.

In 2015, she was also hospitalized following a possible su*cide attempt. “It was just self-hatred,” she confessed in 2018 to her mother. “Low self-esteem, believing that I couldn’t do anything right, thinking that I was no longer worthy of living.

Paris got treatment for her physical and emotional well-being in 2019. At the time, a source told, “She checked herself into a treatment facility to aid in her wellness plan and is looking forward to coming out of this revitalized and ready to tackle the exciting new projects that await her.”

Paris also reestablished her ties with her mother, Rowe, as a teenager. “It’s cool,” she said to Willow Smith on Red Table Talk. “Getting to know her, realizing how similar we are, learning about the music she enjoys… We have a striking resemblance. It’s great to have her as a friend. It’s quite relaxing, which I enjoy. That’s an excellent description.”

Paris’ godparents are Caulkin and Taylor, just like her older brother. She has previously referred to her brother Prince as her “twin” and has always admired him. “He’s everything to me, you know?” In 2020, Paris revealed her connection with Prince.

“I’ve always looked up to him and wanted his approval and everything, and I’ve always wanted to be more like him.”

Paris has been candid about her coming-out experience; she does not identify her s*xuality and has previously stated, “I wouldn’t consider myself bisexual because I’ve dαted more than just men and women.”

In 2021, she stated that discussing with her “religious” family has been challenging, even though her brothers have been quite supportive. “My family is very religious, and many things are very taboo, like homos*xuality, so we don’t talk about it, and it’s not accepted,” she explained to Smith.

“I’ve reached the point where I respect and love them.” I appreciate their viewpoints. I appreciate their faith. I’ve reached the point where I expect them to set aside their culture and religion… Expectations breed resentment. What other people think of me is none of my concern.”

She has followed in her father’s footsteps as a musician, having played in various bands and released two EPs and a full-length solo album, Wilted, in 2020. “Everyone in my family is a musician.” In 2020, she stated, “I mean, I’m a Jackson.” “It makes sense that I’m a musician, but like, Michael Jackson doing folk indie?”

Paris launched her single, “Bandaid,” on February 24, 2023, which she characterized as “louder” and “more fun” than her previous tracks, “just you” and “Lighthouse.”

“However, in terms of songwriting, I’m still taking the same acoustic folk approach I always take when writing,” she continued.

Paris also told that she wants to release a full-length album. “I already have enough [songs] recorded and ready to go to make an album.” In terms of how many [songs] I’ve written, I have no idea. Possibly dozens.”

Paris is also a model and actress, serving as the current face of KVD Beauty and appearing in American Horror Story and Hulu’s teen comedy S*x Appeal.

Paris met her aunt, Janet Jackson, at a fashion week party in France in October 2022. The “All For You” singer posted an Instagram snapshot of the two sitting on a couch. “So good catching up w/ my beautiful niece @parisjackson,” she captioned the photo. Paris replied with a black heart emoji.

Bigi Jackson, 21

Bigi Jackson is the least well-known of the three Jackson children. In 2002, he was born Prince Michael Jackson II via surrogate, also known as Blanket. He changed his name to Bigi in 2015.

Bigi is exceptionally close to his older brother Prince, according to a family source who told PEOPLE in 2019 that the two are “best friends” who enjoy sci-fi and science. In 2020, the youngest Jackson child celebrated his 18th birthday with his siblings at a sushi restaurant.

“Today, my younger brother became a legal ad*lt. “What the f—,” Paris captioned three old photographs of Bigi on Instagram. “I was the one who changed his diapers.

This is such an adventure… I’m so proud of the handsome, brilliant, wise, hilarious, and compassionate young man he’s become. All I have to say is that he values his privacy. HBD, little bro.”

Bigi did give a rare interview in 2021 and discussed his ambition to make a difference in the world. “That’s what each of us [siblings] wants to do — make things that people enjoy but also benefit their lives,” he explained.

The eldest Jackson is likewise concerned about climate change. “I believe we all must be aware of it. “We have some work to do, but our generation understands how critical it is,” he said.
