Massachusetts Mother Accused of Killing 2 Children

The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office says that a woman from Massachusetts is in jail after being charged with killing her two children.

All three children were found inside their family’s Duxbury home two days ago. A 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy died, and an 8-month-old baby was flown to a hospital near Boston with serious injuries.

Cruz said, “As soon as we can, she will be charged with the two counts of murder in the deaths of her children.”

Cruz said that Clancy has been charged with two counts of murder, three counts of strangulation, and three counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon for the deaths of Cora Clancy, 5, and Dawson Clancy, 3.

According to the DA, first responders discovered the three children unconscious inside the home with obvious signs of trauma.

First responders rushed to the Duxbury home at 47 Summer St. just after 6 p.m. Tuesday when Clancy’s husband called 911. Cruz said that the man told him that Clancy had jumped out of a window in the house and tried to kill himself.

“As soon as able, we will be arraigning her on the two charges of murder in the death of her children,” Cruz said.

Cruz said an arrest warrant was issued Wednesday night for Clancy, charging her with two counts of homicide and three counts each of strangulation and assault and battery with a deadly weapon for the deaths of 5-year-old Cora Clancy and 3- Authorities would not say if the murders were caused by mental illness or if there was a history of mental illness.

A representative for Massachusetts General Hospital said that Clancy does work there. The hospital’s spokesperson wrote, “We are shocked and saddened to hear about this unthinkable tragedy.” “Our hearts go out to everyone who has been hurt by these terrible events.”

Two family members stopped by the house on Wednesday with flowers, which they left at the end of the driveway. Both of them were very upset and crying, and they said they didn’t understand what had happened.
