In addition to the details about that trailer, we also have quotes from Pedro Pascal himself. Plus, Jon Favreau talks about Din’s quest for redemption. He also gives you all the information you need, like who’s in the cast, what’s known about the plot, and when to expect new episodes. So, if you want to know everything about Mando and his little green apprentice Baby Yoda, keep reading.

Mandalorian Season 3 Release Date

The Mandalorian season 3 will come out in February 2023. This was confirmed at the Star Wars Celebration. Even though we don’t know much more, there’s every reason to think it’ll follow Disney Plus‘s usual release schedule and come out on a Wednesday or a Friday. If that’s the case, it can’t come out before February 1, and it can’t come out after February 24.

Mandalorian Season 3 Cast

At this early stage, the cast of The Mandalorian season 3 is far from set in stone. Din Djarin will be played by Pedro Pascal again, and Grogu will be by his side again. There were worries that Pascal’s other new show, The Last of Us, which is still being filmed, would get in the way of season 3 of The Mandalorian and delay filming, but we’ve since seen that production has begun.

During an interview with EW, Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Moff Gideon, also said that Gideon will probably have a more significant role in the third movie: “I think you’ll be seeing a lot more of me next season. More than likely, you’ll see Moff Gideon a lot.” How very scary…

Carl Weathers is back as Greef Karga, and he confirmed at Steel City Con that he would also be directing again. After the second season of The Mandalorian is over. Katee Sackhoff is back as Bo-Katan, and now that Din has the Darksaber, she will probably be after it. Ahsoka, played by Rosario Dawson, could be back, but she also has a spin-off coming up and her status after her cameo in The Book of Boba Fett is still unknown.

Christopher Lloyd from “Back to the Future” has also joined the cast in an unknown role. Also, Sasha Banks, whose real name is Mercedes Varnado, has said that she won’t be back as Koska Reeves in season 3.

Cara Dune, played by Gina Carano, is another character who will not be in the show. Most people thought that she would be one of the main characters in the Rangers of the New Republic spin-off. But LucasFilm has cut off all ties with Carano because of what she did on social media. Because of this, she won’t be in season 3 of The Mandalorian, and the Rangers of the New Republic spin-off show has reportedly been canceled.

But what about Bill Burr’s character Migs Mayfield? The actor told Screen Rant (opens in new tab) the following about season 3: “I hope so. Jon Favreau and Rick Famuyiwa wrote both of the episodes I worked on for the chance to be a small part of something so big, so good, and so important to so many people. I can’t say anything except that I love being on that show and I hope it keeps going, but even if it doesn’t, I’ve had a great time.”

Bryce Dallas Howard is coming back to direct an episode. She has already directed two episodes of The Mandalorian and the well-received “Return of the Mandalorian” in The Book of Boba Fett.

The little furry creature Babu Frik from The Rise of Skywalker will finally show up in The Mandalorian season 3.

Mandalorian Season 3 Trailer

The trailer for the third season of The Mandalorian is finally here. It was first shown at Star Wars Celebration behind closed doors. In the video, Mando and Baby Yoda meet up again, and they have a lot of cute moments together. We also get our first live-action look at Mandalore. Din Djarin got in trouble with the Armorer for taking off his helmet, and Bo-Katan told him off. Also, Babu Frik shows up, or at least one of his kind. At Star Wars Celebration, another tiny bit of footage was shown.

What could happen next in The Mandalorian season 3?

Dave Filoni has given us our first hint about what to expect in season 3 of The Mandalorian: “There will be a lot of new things to do. I have to be careful, so I can’t say much, but let’s say I think the Force will be strong with this.” Even though it doesn’t tell us anything, this sounds like classic Mando.

Season 3 of The Mandalorian could deal with many storylines just waiting to be wrapped up.

From what we can see in the trailer, Mando and Bo-claim Katan’s to the Darksaber seems to be the most important one. In Chapter 16, when Din beats Moff Gideon in a fight, he takes the Mandalorian weapon for himself. So, if Bo-Katan wanted to take it back from Gideon, he would have to fight Mando and win. The Clone Wars seemed to leave a plot hole when Sabine Wren gave the Darksaber to Bo-Katan without any problems, but The Book of Boba Fett explained what happened. Bo-rule Katan’s over Mandalore ended severely, and the Armorer thinks it’s all because the Darksaber was given to him instead of winning. Though, Din seems to want to keep the weapon and use it to go after a bounty. He also wants to learn how to use it from the Armorer.

Din also seems to be in charge of a group of Mandalorians in the season 3 trailer, and Pascal hinted about his character’s journey as a leader when he talked to Total Film. He said, “If he’s taking on a leadership role, he doesn’t want to do it.” “I don’t think anything is more interesting than when a character is forced to find out what they can do and who they are. So far, that part has been a lot of fun. Also, from my point of view, there are many ways to search for that tone. I just tried to make the character grow subtly like that.”

Bo-Katan didn’t say much about losing the Darksaber, but she said, “When you try to reach a goal and fail, I think you should re-evaluate.” Intriguing…

Jon Favreau had also talked about Din’s quest for redemption after season 2 when he took off his helmet. “We established in The Book of Boba Fett that the Mandalorian could be saved because he broke the Creed by taking off his helmet,” he said on EW’s Dagobah Dispatch podcast (opens in new tab). “And among the Mandalorians in his group, that is not allowed. Now we know that there are other groups of Mandalorians with different rules. In The Clone Wars, Dave Filoni and the character I voiced showed that the Mandalorians differed greatly. Now, these different groups are coming together, and we’ll figure out how they all fit together. Of course, Mandalore, their home world from which they were forced to leave, is the center of all of these communities.”

Grogu and Din getting back together is another important part of the story. In The Book of Boba Fett, Baby Yoda had to decide whether to become a Jedi or stay with Papa Mando. He chose to stay with Papa Mando. It will be interesting to see if the youngling changes his mind or if Luke Skywalker will play a bigger role in The Mandalorian.

Grogu’s powers look like they will continue to be a big part of The Mandalorian. Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Moff Gideon, gave a hint at why the bad guy wants Baby Yoda so badly: “I am going to get this child, but not for the reason most people think,” he said at GalaxyCon. “This Child is 50 years old, has magic powers, and can see the future. We want everyone to know that this Child could save the universe on this show in the future.” If that’s true, it makes sense that the Empire is still looking for the Child. It also makes it likely that we’ll see the little green guy again.

Esposito also joked: “I’m going to kill this baby in front of you. [Laughs] What do you think? It’s not right, but I have to believe that I will win somewhere.” I hope that doesn’t happen…

He has also said that his character will still be a formidable opponent. “He is the ultimate bad guy who is all-powerful and knows everything there is to know about technology and other things. So, it’s safe to say that you’ll see Moff again… and soon, “he said to Metro.co.uk.

Gideon is no longer on the run but has one more plan. Throughout the season, it’s clear that he’s been getting information from someone he doesn’t know, and he says so in the season 2 finale. It won’t be surprising if the new season on Disney Plus digs deeper into this link. Maybe it’s Thrawn? Or is there another big player in the Empire that we don’t know about? A Star Destroyer is a big part of the Mando trailer, showing that Gideon must have friends in high places.
