Leslie Jordan Death: “Will & Grace” Actor Dies In Car Crash

“The world is definitely a much darker place today without the love and light of Leslie Jordan. Not only was he very talented and fun to work with, but he also gave the country a safe place to feel good during one of its hardest times. He wasn’t very tall, but he made up for it by being kind and a great son, brother, artist, comedian, partner, and person. Jordan’s talent agent, Sarabeth Schedeen, told CNN in a statement that the only comfort people can have today is that he died at the top of his career and personal life.

“Beyond his talents, Leslie’s gifts of making people happy, being able to connect with people of all ages, and being humble, kind, and sweet will be sorely missed by everyone,” his lawyer, Eric Feig, said in a statement.

Jordan was in a car accident in Hollywood on Monday morning. The LA County coroner, who identified Jordan, and a spokesperson for the LA Fire Department said that Jordan was dead at the scene.

Jordan’s Move To Hollywood

Jordan wrote about his move from Tennessee to Hollywood in 1982 in his book “My Trip Down the Pink Carpet,” which came out in 2009. A publisher’s description of the book said, “He got on a Greyhound bus headed for Los Angeles with $1,200 sewn into his underpants and never looked back.”

The actor got jobs on TV shows like “The Fall Guy,” “Designing Women,” and “The People Next Door.”

In the award-winning play “Sordid Lives,” Jordan played Earl “Brother Boy” Ingram for the first time. He then played the same character in the independent film version of the play in 2000.

Fans loved him for his recurring role on “Will & Grace” as Karen’s friend Beverley Leslie. He was also in “The Cool Kids” and “American Horror Story.

During the height of the pandemic, when he became very popular on Instagram, his star shined even brighter. He gained millions of followers.

Jordan also used the platform to tell funny stories about his struggles, memories, and family (many of which were about his beloved mother).

Jordan told Anderson Cooper of CNN about his drug use in the past and how he has been clean for more than 20 years.

People ask, “How do you stop drinking? What’s the best way?” Jordan said. “Yeah, well, he spent 120 days in a Los Angeles jail. That’s going to wake you up.”

In one post, Jordan talked about a guard who took pity on him because of how much he hated being locked up. The guard told Jordan that they had Robert Downey Jr. in custody and would be letting him go and giving Downey Jr. Jordan’s bed.

Jordan said, “Pod A, cell 13, top bunk.” “I feel like I’m mostly to blame for Robert Downey Jr. I gave him a bed, honey.”

The last thing he posted on Instagram was a video of him and artist Danny Myrick singing a hymn on Sunday.
