Johnathan Hildred Wall Jr. was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on September 6, 1990. When John was one, his father was found guilty of armed robbery. He had been in prison before for second-degree murder. Wall’s older half-brother tried to take care of the family while Wall’s father was in jail, but he was soon locked up as well. So, John’s mother was the one who took care of him the most. She worked more than one job to take care of her son and her two daughters.
Wall didn’t have a good father figure in his life, which led to him acting out. He often argued with the adults in charge and got into fights when he was in middle school. He got a ticket for breaking and entering when he was a teen. John found that basketball was a good way to relax, but he was cut from his first high school team because of his attitude.
