Jamie Foxx’s daughter Corinne who initially broke the news to the public about her father suffering a “medical complication” on April 12, is breaking her silence on how he’s doing now.
After speculations about Ray’s recovery persisted for weeks, the 29-year-old took to Instagram Stories to dispel the notion that he is in hospice with a simple, to-the-point message.
On Friday afternoon, May 12, the Beat Shazam co-host/DJ re-shared an Instagram post stating, “Jamie Foxx’s loved ones reportedly preparing for the worst.” In the text underneath the actor’s image, she responded to all the banter surrounding his health.
“Sad to see how the media runs wild,” the 29-year-old wrote in her story. She reposted a since-deleted social media graphic from music outlet RapTV, which claimed the family was “reportedly preparing for the worst” after Foxx’s health scare. “My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating,” she said. “He was playing pickleball yesterday!”
Corinne also thanked everyone for the “prayers and support,” wrapping up the message, teasing, “We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!” alongside a smirk-face emoji.
It’s been precisely one month since the news of the Just Mercy actor’s unknown medical fight broke. In that time, there’s been a lot of conjecture about his condition, as the family has stayed tight-lipped about any personal details.
The Foxx family’s desire for privacy was made clear from the beginning, with little to no information on what happened, or how his recovery has been going.
As Parade previously reported, friends of the Hollywood heavy-hitter urged “Pray for Jamie” during the time when his actual status was unknown. The only consolation fans have gotten until this point was an Instagram post shared to the actor’s social media profile on May 3, stating that he was “feeling blessed.”
