Former Major League Baseball player Mike Blowers now works as a television analyst. His father was a member of the United States Army and was born in Wurzburg, Germany, on April 24, 1965.

For ten years, blowers played for the Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Oakland Athletics. Blowers attended Bethel High School in Spanaway, Washington, where he was a baseball and basketball standout.

He continued his baseball career at Gonzaga University, where he was named West Coast Conference Player of the Year in 1986. The Seattle Mariners selected him in the tenth round of the 1986 Major League Baseball Draft.

Mike Blowers’s Career in Television Broadcasting

Blowers joined the Mariners’ television broadcast crew as a color commentator in 2007 after retiring as a player. He immediately became a fan favorite due to his intelligent analysis, amusing tales, and approachable personality. Blowers has been a Mariners’ broadcast team member since then, assisting play-by-play announcer Dave Sims.

Blowers is also involved in several charitable activities. He has volunteered for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Seattle Children’s Hospital, and Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

The Mariners presented him with the Dave Niehaus “Heart and Soul” Award in 2012, which celebrates those who embody the spirit of Niehaus, the renowned Mariners broadcaster who died in 2010.
